I heard this song in one of DJ Japandemic's mixes and I loved it. The remix might even be better but this one's a good one too! It makes me want to get ready to go to the club. Happy Monday peeps :)
Xoxo, Jess
I love Carrie Underwood. I heard this song today on the radio and was like "Heck Yes!" I am not condoning killing your cheating husband/lover but you know, whatever floats your boat. (I kidd.)
Valerie by Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson- it's a fave and the perfect way to start any day. This song is also a good one to play while cleaning your house. I dance around and dust/ sweep/ etc. to this song and all is right with the world. Why don't cha come on ova, and stop makin a fool out of maaaaaaaay! Why don't ya come on ovah Valleraaaayyyy!!!!! ;) Happy Monday lovelies!
This week is going to be quite busy people. Fall semester starts today. Im taking a full course load at a school about 45 minutes away. So between full time work, commuting, and school Im going to be a grumpy B around the house til I get used to the schedule. But you know, Im Amazing, so easy peasy Young Jeezy. Bonus: My Birthday's Sunday. Holla!
My pick for this week's Monday Song is Tegan and Sara's Speak Slow. I LOVE Tegan and Sara and this song is one of my many favorites by them. For some reason lsitening to Tegan and Sara always takes me to fall time and since today is August 6th that means we're getting closer to feeling some amazing weather. I can hardly wait :) It's a funny video to a fast and upbeat song. In my opinion, a great start on a Monday!
This week I am waiting on a phone call for a job that I really, really want. They are at a conference Monday through Wednesday so I won't hear back either way til Friday. So I will be an anxious lady for the rest of the week. Matty is thrilled, I am sure. So it's slow, mellow music for me for the rest of the week to balance out the ball of nerves inside me. Ryan Adams has quickly become one of my favorite artists of all time after my boyfriend introduced me to his music a few years ago. It's a constant in our lives. Have a great week and send some good vibes my way :)
There's something ya'll should know about me. There are only 3 things I listen to when Im driving or riding in my car. First? Nothing. Seriously. I spend alot of my driving time not listening to anything. I know this is blasphemy for most of you but I am completely content with not listening to anything on both quick trips and long treks. Second? NPR. This is the only station I have tuned on my rado. Third? Whichever CD I am hooked on. And lately (like 2 months) it has been Justin Townes Earle's album from a few years ago The Good Life. I just LOVE it. {Obviously since its been in my player for so long.} Matty and I went to see him in May at Fitz in Houston. It was great. And hilarious drunk #1 fan was an added bonus. Please, please check out his music. Its like hip-Americana-folky awesomeness (Is that a genre? Cuz it should be.). I think its fan-freaking-tastic and recommend it highly. Have a great week!!
Another Monday another Song of the Week. I have a full schedule this week between work, school, and Pretty Riot.com and this is the perfect song to put me in a good mood for it. Check, check, check it out!
I have been walking around all day singing the chorus to this song! I'm not a huge 80's music fan and my relationship is going strong so I'm not sure why I've been butchering this song all day. I've been rapping it, putting an opera spin on it, even serenading my guy (he loves it, don't let him tell you different). Its catchy and fun. Hell I might even get home from work, throw on a pair of tights and a neon headband, grab my hairbrush microphone, and put on a show! Here's to the week... Take it away Pat!
Hey yall! How was your weekend? We had a great, overcast weekend around these parts. And after 105 degree, face melting heat, a few days of cloudy skies have been well received. We have some fun plans for the week ahead and need some good tunes to carry us through.
Liz's Song This Week:
Falling Down- The Mighty Orq
This Friday Jess and I are going to see Come See My Dead Person at the Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe. The Mighty Orq will be on stage first. I had never heard of them before so over to YouTube I went. Everything Ive heard Ive really liked so Im excited to see them. Listen above and check them out. And if you are in the Galveston area come out Friday night for a great night of amazing music in a legendary location.
I walk around constantly singing this song. Well really just, "all the rice in China couldn't pay for Carolina, she's the type of girl you wish you never met." It just sticks in your head. You feel bad for the poor sucker but the song makes me happy. This band is based out of Houston and is an offshoot of the local band Buxton. I doubt you can only listen to this song once. Before you know it you will be singing it all week. Have an awesome week!
Ok now you can officially wake up! WOOOO!!!!! Drink your morning coffee to "...all the rice in China..." and then dance around your living room to Head Automatica!!!!! Monday is NOT even ready for you!!!!!
